Lady Rebels add to road mastery

Desi-Rae Young hit the goahead layup with 13 seconds left and totaled 18 points and 10 rebounds for UNLV, which won its program-record ninth straight road game with a 7574 victory over Fresno State in a Mountain West women’s game Saturday in Fresno, California.

Jade Thomas had 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Lady Rebels (15-8, 13-5), who overcame an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit after blowing a 21-point halftime lead in their fifth win in a row.

Hanna Cavinder scored 32 points and Haley Cavinder 20 for the Bulldogs (14-9, 12-6), who shot 47.6 percent. UNLV shot 48.2 percent despite missing 8 of 10 third-quarter shots.

Nia Johnson had 12 points for the Lady Rebels, whose 55 first-half points marked a program record for a league game.

■ No. 1 Connecticu­t 97, Butler 68: At Indianapol­is, Aailyah Edwards had 24 points and 14 rebounds and Paige Bueckers 20 points and 14 assists for the Huskies (20-1, 17-0 Big East), who shot 51.4 percent. The Bulldogs (2-16, 2-15) were outrebound­ed 49-25.

■ No. 7 Baylor 85, Kansas State 49: At Waco, Texas, Queen Egbo had 19 points for the Lady Bears (19-2, 14-1 Big 12), who beat the Wildcats (715, 2-13) for the 36th straight time and won their 11th straight league title.

MEN

■ No. 1 Gonzaga 86, Loyola Marymount 69: At Spokane, Wash., Corey Kispert hit six 3-pointers and totaled 24 points for the Bulldogs (24-0, 15-0 West Coast), who downed the Lions (12-8, 7-5) for their program-record 51st straight home win.

■ No. 17 Kansas 71, No. 2 Baylor 58: At Lawrence, Kan., David McCormack had 20 points for the Jayhawks (18-8, 12-6 Big 12), who held a 48-28 edge in rebounds. The loss by the Bears (18-1, 11-1) left Gonzaga as the nation’s lone unbeaten team.

■ No. 3 Michigan 73, Indiana 57: At Bloomingto­n, Ind., Franz Wagner had 21 points for the Wolverines (18-1, 13-1 Big Ten) in their ninth straight win over the Hoosiers (12-12, 7-10).

■ No. 5 Illinois 74, No. 23 Wisconsin 69: At Madison, Wis., Kofi Cockburn had 19 points for the Illini (18-6, 15-4 Big Ten), who capped their first regular-season sweep of the Badgers (16-9, 10-8) since 2005. D’Mitrik Trice scored 19 of his 29 points in the final 2:12 for Wisconsin.

■ No. 6 Alabama 64, Mississipp­i State 59: At Starkville, Miss., the Crimson Tide (19-6, 14-2 Southeaste­rn) built a double-digit lead and held off the Bulldogs (13-12, 7-9) to clinch their first SEC regular-season title since 2002.

■ Oklahoma State 94, No. 7 Oklahoma 90, OT: At Norman, Okla., freshman Cade Cunningham scored 10 of his 40 points in overtime for the Cowboys (16-6, 9-6 Big 12), who trailed 38-31 at halftime.
