Theresa K. Wood born April 24,1930 in Dearborn, MI and passed August 4, 2021 in Las Vegas. Her parents were Caroline and Stanley Krawczyk. She had a brother Edward Taylor. Terry was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic church and was an original member of St. Viator’s parish. Her Mother later married Richard Nonis who settled in Las Vegas. Terry married David K. Wood March 11, 1950 in Detroit. Terry and Dave lived in Ohio and Texas before settling in Henderson in 1955. They have 4 children, David Richard Wood (Nancy) Leslie Hammett (Greg) Keith E. Wood (Dianna) and Caroline Pranger (Bruce). They have 6 grandchild­ren. Cassie (Rob) Pearson, Alicia (Ronnie) Escalante, Alaina (Cody) Sawyer, Adam Pranger, Nathan Hammet, Marissa Pranger. 11 great grandchild­ren Alexis, Ashlyn, Luke, Gianna, Mason, Lucas, Emery, Devon, Jaxton, Savannah, and Gavyn. Terry worked at the Westerner club downtown, the Flamingo hotel, Lenz Modeling Agency, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Tony Pitch Travel, Tradewind Tours and Travel Unlimited. While employed as a certified travel agent she was able to travel all over the world and had many wonderful experience­s. She was a Docent at Spring Mountain Ranch and a member of Las Vegas Musical Arts Society for many years. Terry and David ended up moving to Blue Diamond in 1990 to present day. She was a member of the Blue Diamond History Club and the “Guzzling Grannies of Blue Diamond.” Terry could often be seen among the wild burros riding around town on her way to the pool on her beloved mobility scooter. She was an avid hiker who with her friend Alice hiked every canyon in Red Rock as well as much of Mt. Charleston. She was a swimmer and loved the outdoors and took her children everywhere. Everyone who met Terry liked her and she always remembered everyone in remarkable detail. A true pioneer of Southern Nevada. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tue., Aug. 17, with reception to follow, both at Palm Mortuary 7979 Warm Springs Rd. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations sent to the “Save Red Rock Canyon” in Terry’s name.
