Laura Joyce Swift 82, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, received her wings on April 12, 2022, at her home where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. She was born April 6, 1940, in Carlsbad, NM and grew up in Loving, NM. Laura attended New Mexico State University where she also worked in the Physical Science Laboratory. She was offered a transfer to the Nevada Test Site where she worked prior to becoming a full-time mother. Her second career started off in Real Estate as an agent worked her way up to Vice President and she transition­ed into one of the most sought-after Escrow Officer’s in Las Vegas, and retired in Mountain Home, AR. Laura especially loved spending time with her children and friends, and she really enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening. She had a wonderful smile that could lite up the room, eyes that were as blue as could be and always had a sparkle in them. She was a free spirit full of wit and love. She is preceded by her husband of 45 years John Swift, her mother Winifred Davis and father William Davis. She is survived by her two sisters, Joann Wyman and Ellen Gonzales; daughter, Joanna Treston and husband John, Heather Scott and husband Greg; sons, Charles Morrison and wife Oksana, and Steven Genseal and wife Pat; grandchild­ren, Jason Morrison, Jeremy Buss, Camden Christophe­rson, Corianna Whipple, Hayley Stegen, Tanner Morrison, Christophe­r Morrison, Katelyn Morrison; and 11 great-grandchild­ren. Services will be at 10:30 am Sun. Apr. 30, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Las Vegas, with reception to follow. A service will also be held in Mountain Home, AR later part of May where she will be buried with her husband John.
