AVIATORS GAME REPORT
Saturday
Aviators 12, Isotopes 7 Isotopes Park, Albuquerque, N.M.
■ RECAP: Jed Lowrie showed he might be fit to head back to the Athletics. In his fourth rehab game after missing a month with a sprained left shoulder, Lowrie gave the Aviators a big league boost, hitting two home runs and driving in three runs and scoring four times as part of a 4-for-5 night. The Aviators launched five home runs and belted 17 hits — 10 for extra bases. Matt Davidson homered for the second consecutive night, temporarily tying for the team lead with solo blast in the second inning until Shea Langeliers hit a tworun shot an inning later. Later in the third, Billy Mckinney hit his eighth homer.
■ RECORDS: Aviators (51-46); Isotopes (46-52)
■ AT THE PLATE: Every starter but one in the Aviators’ lineup collected a hit, and six had at least two. Mckinney tripled twice and scored two runs, and Cristian Pache was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIS. Sheldon Neuse, Kevin Smith and Davidson also had multihit games.
■ ON THE MOUND: Right-hander Collin Wiles (8-6) allowed five runs on eight hits — including Jimmy Herron’s three-run homer — and a walk with three strikeouts in 5⅔ innings. Isotopes righthander Brandon Gold (4-5) yielded three home runs and was tagged for seven hits and five runs in three innings. Gold struck out two and walked two.
■ DUGOUT CHATTER: The Aviators won for just the third time in 13 games, but a win Sunday would give them a split of the six-game series.
■ NEXT GAME: Aviators, LHP Jared Koenig (4-3, 3.57) at Albuquerque, RHP Karl Kauffman (2-0, 2.63), 5:05 p.m. Sunday
