Saturday Lights FC 0, Phoenix Rising 0 Phoenix Rising Stadium
■ RECAP: It was back to school night in the Valley of the Sun, and the youngsters in attendance received a lesson in fundamentally sound defense. Though possessing the ball less, the Lights allowed just two shots on frame in playing to their second consecutive draw and first scoreless draw since May 18. They are now 2-2-2 since a three-match winning streak and remained in a tie for sixth place with El Paso in the USL’S Western Conference standings. Phoenix has been held scoreless in four of its past five matches and remained in ninth place.

■ IN THE NETS: Lights goalkeeper Tomas Romero needed just two saves for his fifth clean sheet of the season. Ben Lundt stopped five shots for the shutout for Phoenix.
■ ALSO: Phoenix held the advantage in shots (16-13), possession (56 percent), passes, pass accuracy and corner kicks (8-5). Each team was whistled for nine fouls, while the Lights were called for four of the matches’ six yellow cards.
