JEANNE ASTA HEMMINGSEN-DANE ROEBUCK

Jeanne Asta Hemmingsen-dane Roebuck passed away July 21, 2022, at the age of 90, in Las Vegas. She was born January 14, 1932 to Harold and Ann Hemmingsen­dane. She grew up in the Sunset District of San Francisco and graduated

from Abraham Lincoln High School. She later attended the University of California,

Berkeley and then Miss Mcaleer's School for Private Secretarie­s.

She worked for the Veterans Administra­tion and as secretary for the chief West Coast architect of the U.S. Postal Service

in San Francisco. She also worked as the secretary for Immanuel Lutheran Church and Pastor Dean Lindquist in Eureka.

She married Robert "Bob" Roebuck in 1959. They lived in San Francisco, Terra

Linda, Santa Rosa, Corte Madera, and Eureka, California; and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jeanne was a breast cancer survivor at the early age of 35. She became an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society for 25 years. She developed its Reach to Recovery program in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties. This was a program helping women cope with their breast cancer experience. She recruited, trained and supervised volunteers. She also served 2 years as chair of the California Reach to Recovery Task Force with the American Cancer Society.

She worked with her husband in operating Roebuck Truck & Engine, the Freightlin­er and White truck and trailer dealership in Eureka for 20 years. They moved to Las Vegas in 1992.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran

Church in Eureka and St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Las Vegas.

She was predecease­d by her husband of 58 years in 2017 and her sister, Barbara Dagitz, in 2016. She is survived by her son, Erik Roebuck and his wife Renee of

San Diego; her daughter Karen Roebuck of Eureka; her brother-in-law and sisterin-law John and Barbara Roebuck of Santa Monica; nieces, nephews, and greatnephe­ws.

Services will be at Noon on Friday, August 26, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 8901

Del Webb Blvd., Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
