DALE “REX” HUNT

-

Dale “Rex” Hunt sadly

passed away on August 15, 2022, five days short of his 73rd birthday. Rex was born on August 20, 1949, in Las Vegas, Nevada, a Las Vegas original. Rex graduated from Las Vegas High School in

1967. He worked as a conductor and brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 44 years. Rex took an early interest in finance and investing and became quite a whiz in economics and all things financial. He was the only person we knew who actually had a stock ticker-tape machine in his home (before something called the internet). Rex loved music of all sorts and enjoyed many shows and concerts in Las Vegas. He had a wide range of musical

tastes from Johnny Mathis to Eric Burdon & The Animals. Rex was the son of the late Lida and Dale Vernon (DV) Hunt. Rex’s roots were from Caliente, Nevada (Lida) and South Platte, Nebraska (DV). Rex loved dogs like few people ever. His favorites were Tuffy, Taffy, Grizzly, and Sonny Boy. Rex was a very generous person, often taking friends to concerts and out to dinner. He let friends stay at his extra house for no rent for as long as they wanted. He loved a fine glass of wine and had a special fondness for women who worked out at the gym. His favorite football team was the Nebraska Cornhuskers and his

favorite basketball team was the Boston Celtics. Rex also loved to go to the drag races and have lunch with old friends and co-workers. Rex was a very social person but also a very private person. He was a very good-looking man and always would be the best-dressed person in the room. Rex is survived by his brother Alan D Hunt of Las Vegas. There are no services planned.
