LARRY GENE ELLENBROOK SR
Larry Gene Ellenbrook Sr., also known as “Big Lar” to many, passed awayon August 20, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born January 13, 1947 in Akron, OH to Laura Murphy and John Ellenbrook, Jr. The family moved around a bit, but came to settle upon Las Vegas. Larry joined the Operating Engineers Local 501. He worked for many historic casinos before retiring from the Riviera Hotel and Casino. Larry was a dedicated husband, father and grandparent who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed a number of outdoor activities such as boating, camping, and fishing. Larry also enjoyed watching sports, taking road trips, BBQ’S, 57 Chevrolets, and a well-done filet at Bob Taylor’s Steakhouse - not butterflied! He is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Betsy Ellenbrook; daughter, Jennifer (Kurt) Snider; son, Larry (Melissa) Ellenbrook, Jr.; and his two grandchildren, Harper and Hadley Snider. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for November.
