RICHARD F. SMITH

Richard F. “Dick” Smith (born 8/18/38) passed from our lives on August 26, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Erica, and his three children Sylvia Tommasino (Salvatore Tommasino,) Alan Klein (Michele Klein) and Karen Hughes (William Hughes) and preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Costa. His extended family includes11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Richard’s legacy will be forever memorialized by his devotion to his wife Erica, and to his service; both as a father to four and his 26 years of duty as an Officer of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department retiring in 1990 (P #387). He will always be warmly remembered for his unwavering integrity, loyalty, and the gratitude he felt for both his Law Enforcement family and his family at home. He may have left this earthly world, but the echoes of his tenure amongst us will reverberate forever in the lives of all he touched.
