DAVID H BUETTNER
David H Buettner, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully August 3, 2022. He was born May 12, 1942 in Jamaica, NY. Dave started his career at Grumman Aircraft working on the design of the Apollo Lunar Module. There he developed materials that controlled the thermal balance of the spacecraft. He loved his work on the LM project and was so happy to have had a significant role in "getting us to the moon and back again." After that in 1969 he moved with his wife and children to California to continue his career at Hughes Aircraft Co. He was involved in so many projects over the years that he so enjoyed-always furthering the advancement of science and technology through his love of engineering. Eventually, he became Deputy Director of Engineering of an electro-optics group. He retired in 1998 and joined Aerojet Space Systems and became Director of Engineering. A few years later he rounded out his career at Radiant Technology Corporation as COO. He loved traveling and visited many places in the world on vacations, He is survived by his wife and best friend Ann Lynne of 58 years, his daughter Laurie Frith and husband Richard of Carlsbad, CA, his son Christopher of Irving, TX, and three grandchildren, Eva, Chloe, and Madeline.
