Arizona ruins debut of new San Diego State stadium

SAN DIEGO — Jayden de Laura threw four touchdown passes, three to fellow transfer Jacob Cowing, as Arizona beat San Diego State 38-20 on Saturday to spoil the Aztecs’ debut of Snapdragon Stadium.

The Wildcats (1-0) avenged a 38-14 loss to SDSU (0-1) in their home opener last year during a 1-11 season. De Laura, who transferre­d from Washington State, threw for 299 yards. Cowing, a transfer from Texas-el Paso, had eight catches for 152 yards.

■ UNR 38, Texas State 14: At Reno, safety Bentlee Sanders had two intercepti­ons, returning one 28 yards for a TD, and forced a fumble for the Wolf Pack (2-0), who had four takeaways after totaling five in their opener. Arkansas State transfer Layne Hatcher threw for 293 yards and two TDS with two intercepti­ons for the Bobcats (0-1).

■ Wyoming 40, Tulsa 37, 2OT: At Laramie, Wyo., John Hoyland kicked a winning 30-yard field goal for the Cowboys (1-1) after hitting a tying 55-yarder with 6:19 left in regulation and missing a 44-yarder with seven seconds to go. Davis Brin threw for 460 yards and three TDS for the Golden Hurricane (01), who had three 100-yard receivers.

■ Air Force 48, Northern Iowa 17: At Colorado Springs, Colo., Haaziq Daniels was 3 of 6 passing for 109 yards and a TD and ran for 107 yards and a TD on 12 carries for the Falcons (1-0), who rushed for 582 yards at an average of 9.4 per carry. Theo Day threw for 286 yards and two TDS for the Panthers (0-1), who trailed 27-3 at halftime.
