Celebrating 50 Years of Care
Looking back with gratitude
Southwest Medical, part of Optum Care, was founded
with a single cardiology practice in 1972. Today, we are southern Nevada’s largest multispecialty medical group with clinics, urgent cares, complete health care centers, 24/7 virtual visits, and more than 350 providers throughout the valley.
As we mark our 50th year of service to the community, we reflect on the critical role our employees have played in our success and longevity, and how they, when out in the community, represent our values and commitment to bettering this place we call home.
Rooted in the community
When we talk about being a part of southern Nevada,
it’s the truth. The list of providers, clinicians, and staff who are long-time residents of our valley—and have been a part of Southwest Medical for more than 20 years—is long. And we believe a community’s quality of life is directly related to the health of its members. That’s why Southwest Medical works to improve the entire health care system in Nevada and give back to the community whenever possible. Each of our health care centers has formed an Employee Community Council. Members decide which area charities and organizations the center will support through volunteering their time and effort, and they coordinate and execute this activity. When it comes to larger community events, our various councils join forces to represent our organization in a larger, even more unified way.
Team of professionals
Yes, our employees are great neighbors. They are also—to which any patient can attest—true health care services professionals focused on providing the highest
quality of care. Patients come first. No matter the task, it is performed with care and compassion. There’s no mystery here—this year, Southwest Medical would
not be celebrating its longevity and service to this community if not for the extraordinary professionalism
of its team members, both past and present.
And for this, we are truly grateful.
