Liberty OT Haynes, touted recruit, commits to Rebels

Liberty offensive tackle Ed Haynes, the state’s top remaining undeclared recruit according to 247Sports’ composite ratings, said Saturday he committed to UNLV. The 6-foot-3-inch, 265-pound Haynes is eighth in the state’s composite rankings, a combination of various recruiting rating services. He said he will sign in December but hasn’t decided whether he would enroll early at UNLV. Haynes’ other finalists were Hawaii, Oregon State and Campbell.

■ Volleyball: At St. George, Utah, Gabrielle Arretche-ramos had 13 kills and Jordyn Freeman eight kills and six blocks to lead the Rebels past Utah Tech 25-14, 25-8, 26-24. UNLV (9-2) had a .216 to .023 edge in hitting. Bridgett Talia had nine kills and Mykenna Nelson 20 digs for the Trailblazers (6-3).
