LAURA MARIE LARKIN

Laura Mendicino Larkin, 65 of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2022.

Born in Carbondale, PA of the late Frank and Gloria Mendicino. She was a graduate of Saint Rose High School, Carbondale, PA, Class of 1974. Laura graduated from Saint Joseph's School of Nursing, Carbondale, PA and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Saint Francis, Joliet, IL. Laura relocated to Las Vegas in 1983 and devoted her professional life to a career of service in the local medical community. She worked in a variety of specialties to include the cardiac cath lab, intensive care unit, emergency department and as a Chief Flight Nurse. She more recently worked in hospice care. Not only was she dedicated to the absolute best care of her patients, she passionately mentored and inspired both colleagues and those seeking a career in healthcare.

When not working with her patients, Laura delighted in bringing family and friends together to enjoy a meal lovingly created with the Italian recipes passed down from her mother and grandmothers. Surviving are her two children: Justin Larkin with wife Katie, Austin, TX and Kendra Sulejic with husband Drago, Las

Vegas, NV. Four grandchildren, Reese Larkin, Liam Larkin, Jameson Sulejic, and Cayden Sulejic. A brother, Frank Mendicino and wife Tracy, Buffalo, NY and two sisters: Debby Mendicino, Carbondale, PA and Ann Marie Dunn and husband Thomas, Las Vegas, NV; several nephews, a niece and her beloved dog, Harlie. Laura will forever be missed and remain in our hearts.

A private service and cremation entombment will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill, PA.
