LESLIE CANFIELD JR.

-

Leslie "Butch" Mitchell Canfield Jr. passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at St. Rose San Martin Hospital in Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife Patty; their sons Josh, Adam, and Ryan; Adam’s wife Whitney; his granddaughters Hannah and Adalyn; his sister Sue Bentley and her husband Jim; and finally, a huge extended family who loved and adored his sense of humor and unconditional love. Butch was born and spent much of his childhood in Columbus, Ohio. His family moved to Enterprise, Alabama, and then eventually to Clarksville, Tennessee. In 1961, Butch came to Las Vegas to work at the Nevada Test Site, serving as Chief of Plant Protection for several years. He left the Nevada Test Site in 1976 in order to open the Canfield Corporation, his real-estate company. Butch managed professional and commercial property until he retired in 2018. Butch’s clients appreciated his honest, intelligent and creative approach to management. Many continued to call him regularly for advice. Butch also loved supporting his boys in sports, coaching Little League for 10 years and never missing a game when his boys played soccer. He loved his community, joining Kawanis and eventually serving as president of his chapter. Butch also supported the scouting program and many other community organizations. His family and friends will miss his strength and commitment. A memorial service will be held in his honor at a later date. We encourage all who loved him to attend and

help us celebrate his wonderful life.
