-

Patricia Mae Haack, AKA Patty Mae, passed peacefully September 14, 2022, at Las Vegas University Medical Center. Born January 23, 1939, in Glendale CA., she moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1947. Patty is survived by her Cousin Gail Kanter of Palm Springs, CA, and Gail’s two daughters Cassandra Newman of Palm Springs, CA and Cherlyn Taylor of Lake Havasu City, AZ. Patty was an amazing woman who started taking piano lessons at the age of 5, learned to type at the

age of 8, and earned a certificate in high school for typing 100 wpm. She started

high school in 1952 as a freshman at Las Vegas High School where she met two friends who said she should try out for the marching band. She was hesitant because she only played the piano but, she tried out and played the Marimba and Glockenspiel. She was with the Las Vegas High School Marching Band for all

four years of high school. Her High School years were some of her fondest memories. After graduation in 1956 with

the certificate she earned in typing, she secured her a job as a Teletype Operator with the United California Bank an affiliate of First National Bank, at the young age of 17. She thought it would be a summer job because she thought she had been accepted on a Music Scholarship to the Arizona State University; however, the letter never came. She later found the acceptance letter in a drawer when her grandmother passed. She stayed with the bank for 40 years, being promoted every year, rising to Vice President of Consumer Credit from 1964 to retirement. At her retirement dinner she was honored for being promoted to a higher position each year. She devoted her time to many charities; she was Secretary & Treasurer of the Wild Cats Reunion Committee from 2004 to present. Secretary & Treasurer of the Las Vegas High School Class of 1956 Reunion Committee from 1995 to present. Secretary of the Las Vegas High

School Senior class Reunion Committee from 2000 to present. Secretary of the Las Vegas Porcelain Art Guild from 1995 to present. Her passion and dedication to the Las Vegas High School Alumni Association is well known. If you were a friend of Patty’s and would like further
