Air Force holds on, tops Navy

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. — Haaziq Daniels threw for 156 yards and a touchdown and ran for 65 yards to help Air Force hold off Navy 13-10 on Saturday.

Brad Roberts ran for 108 yards, and wide receiver David Cormier had three catches for 120 yards, including a 67yard TD on the third play for the Falcons (4-1), who went ahead to stay on Matthew Dapore’s 22-yard field goal with 4:14 left.

Tai Lavatai had a 5-yard TD run for the Midshipmen (1-3), two-td underdogs, who were outgained 356-243 in yards of offense.

Navy, which trailed 10-0 after one quarter, missed a 33-yard field goal early in the third. The Midshipmen haven’t won at Air Force since an overtime victory Oct. 6, 2012.

■ Connecticu­t 19, Fresno State 14: At East Hartford, Conn., Devontae Houston ran for 105 yards, including a go-ahead 17-yard TD with 2:20 left, for the Huskies (2-4), who had edges of 313-187 in yards of offense and 36:36 to 23:24 in time of possession. Logan Fife threw for 157 yards with two intercepti­ons for the Bulldogs (1-3), who scored the first TD on Nikki Remigio’s 87-yard punt return in the second quarter on which he broke six tackles.
