Durham rolls by Nashville, snares IL title

Luke Raley hit a two-run double in Durham’s four-run third inning and an RBI single in its three-run fourth as the Bulls throttled Nashville 13-0 in the Internatio­nal League title game Saturday at Las Vegas Ballpark.

Vidal Brujan went 4-for-5 with two RBIS and scored three runs for Durham (87-64), which will face Pacific Coast League champion Reno (86-63) for the Triple-a title at 4:05 p.m. Sunday at Las Vegas Ballpark.

Foothill product Bligh Madris, who made his major league debut this season with Pittsburgh before Tampa Bay claimed him off waivers Sept. 16, hit a two-run double in the fourth and a two-run double that capped the Bulls’ four-run seventh.

Four Durham pitchers combined to limit the Sounds (91-59) to no runs on eight singles. Brice Turang and Joey Wiemer each had two hits for Nashville.

Calvin Faucher, who relieved starter Cooper Criswell to start the fourth, was credited with the win after pitching two perfect innings. The 27-year-old right-hander struck out five of the six batters he faced.
