Celebrating 50 Years of Care
A Tradition of Giving Back
At Southwest Medical, part of Optum Care, we believe a community’s quality of life is directly related to the health of its members. That’s why our team works not just to improve the health care system in Nevada, but to give back to our community whenever possible. We have an organization-wide response to ongoing social issues, not simply with corporate giving, but with the support of all our employees. Each of our health care centers has formed an
Employee Community Council whose members decide which area charities and organizations to support.
As we mark our 50th year of service to the community, we are recognizing some of our community partners who make southern Nevada such a wonderful place to live and work—partners who we so proudly support.
Make-a-wish Foundation
Southwest Medical has been a community partner of Make-a-wish Southern Nevada since 2016, and in that time, we’ve donated more than
$50,000 in support of various programs. The southern Nevada chapter has granted more than 2,300 wishes to critically ill kids. As is the case with many of our partners, our employees are also very generous with their time and financial support.
Project 150
Project 150’s mission is to offer support and services to homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students in southern Nevada, so they can stay in school through graduation and build a successful future. Through continued giving and volunteering, all of us at Southwest Medical look forward to helping Project 150 ensure bright futures for our
young people for many years to come.
The Tyler Robinson Foundation
The Tyler Robinson Foundation is the nonprofit organization of the GRAMMY Award-winning band Imagine Dragons, and it meets a critical need—financial support for families with children receiving cancer treatment—in communities across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Malaysia, and South Africa. The Southwest Medical team joins the numerous hospitals and medical centers across the country and around the globe committed to addressing the huge financial hardship cancer treatment places on families.
