SALT LAKE CITY — Cameron Rising threw for 415 yards, ran for three touchdowns and scampered up the middle for a go-ahead 2-point conversion with 48 seconds left in No. 20 Utah’s 43-42 victory over No. 7 Southern California on Saturday.

Rising rushed 1 yard for a TD on fourth down to set up the deciding conversion. Caleb Williams threw for 381 yards and five TDS for the Trojans (6-1, 4-1 Pac-12).

Tight end Dalton Kincaid had 16 catches for 234 yards and a TD for the Utes (5-2, 3-1), the program’s most yards receiving in one game since wide receiver Carl Harry had 255 in 1988.

Rising, who was once committed to current USC coach Lincoln Riley when he was at Oklahoma, became the first Utah quarterback to throw for 400 yards since Brian Johnson had 417 against San Diego State in 2005.

Mario Williams had four catches for 145 yards, and fellow USC wide receiver Jordan Addison had seven catches for 106 yards and a TD before being sidelined by a third-quarter ankle injury.

Against an all-out blitz, Williams connected with wide receiver Michael Jackson III, who stepped through a tackle for a 20yard TD with 6:15 to play for a 42-35 Trojans lead. The catch was Jackson’s first of the season.

■ Stanford 16, Notre Dame 14: At South Bend, Ind., Tanner Mckee passed for 288 yards, and Joshua Karty kicked three field goals for the Cardinal (2-4), who halted an 11-game skid against Football Bowl Subdivision foes and a three-game win streak by the Fighting Irish (3-3).

Stanford clinched the outcome when safety Jonathan Mcgill broke up a pass by Drew Pyne on fourth-and-7 from the Notre Dame 25 with 1:04 left. Pyne threw for 151 yards and a TD. The Cardinal had a 385-301 edge in yards of offense.

Davenport, a true freshman, debuted after QBS Cooper Legas (concussion) and Levi Williams (heel) were sidelined in the first half. Davenport led two eight-play drives in the third quarter that ended with Connor Coles’ tying 48-yard field goal and Davenport’s scramble into the end zone.

Calvin Tyler Jr. ran for 129 yards on 24 carries for Utah State, which had a 390-262 edge in yards of offense.
