Pay Attention to Nevada's Secretary of State Race

,, As a veteran, as someone who spent my entire adult life protecting America, I beg you to recognize and take seriously this national security threat. ,,

-

I am not a partisan. I served my country for over 38 years, in uniform and as a civilian, in peacetime and conflict. I proudly served around the globe for both

republican and democratic presidents. I write to you today not as a democrat, or as a republican, but as a fellow American, a veteran and a National Security expert.

During my service I worked against our nation's enemies, thwarting their efforts to

endanger America and at the same time promoting the democracy that we love. Our enemies were exclusively authoritarian regimes where your vote, if they ever ran elections, was a sham. Only the "dear leader" was in charge and while a citizen of that country might yearn for a better world - their votes mattered not. During those decades of service I always knew the United States of America had my back. I wore

democracy as my armor, a touchstone in opposing tyranny. My colleagues over the decades felt the same. We knew what we stood for - freedom. Inexplicably we now face a threat at home to destroy that precious freedom - I never imagined

that could happen.

We have a clear and present danger to our democracy, in races across the

country and no more so than in Nevada. I'm not exaggerating. It exists in the form of one candidate running for statewide office.

The Secretary of the State of Nevada is an elected position most of us have never even thought about. Well, we

need to think about it now. The Secretary of State is the person responsible for overseeing and counting your votes in 2024, a presidential election year. Can you

imagine what would happen if the overseer of Nevada's election just threw out your vote? Our country, democracy would be rocked to its core. And yet, that is what we

fear election denier and conspiracy theorist (R) Jim Marchant might do.

Think this can't happen in America? It's already been attempted. In 2020, former President Trump told the Secretary of the State of Georgia to "find" 11,780 additional

votes. It's on tape! And now we have a candidate in Nevada who is running on the premise that he would have found those nonexistent votes for Trump, thereby

corrupting our elections. Marchant is more loyal to this one man than he is to Nevada and to our country.

Changing the count on a legitimate election would compromise the very integrity of our system, the very core of what I and countless other veterans have fought (some giving their lives) to defend. Make no mistake, the most serious threat to our democracy exists right here in Nevada. The people of Nevada, must not allow this person with no integrity to oversee our elections. If you make one vote in this 2022

cycle, whether you are democrat, republican or independent, make sure it's for the man who will honor your vote - (D) Cisco Aguilar. Our democracy is at stake. As a veteran, as someone who spent my entire adult life protecting America, I beg

you to recognize and take seriously this national security threat. You can be active in defending our democracy by talking to your friends and neighbors about this threat

and by all means, vote.

Signed,

James Mcllmail
