LOUIS I. (LOUIE) BRADFIELD

-

Louis I. (Louie) Bradfield passed away peacefully on October 2, 2022. Louis is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, with whom he shared his life for 36 years; his sister-in-law, Elia Wise; his niece, Sabrina Wise; and his cousins, the Kalnoki Family.

Louis was the only child of Jeannette Sarah Bradfield and Fred Bradfield, of Detroit Michigan. He grew up in Detroit and Tucson AZ, and attended the University of Iowa, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts & Theater. Louis arrived in Las Vegas in 1964 and worked at the Tropicana, Desert Inn, and MGM, before spending over 40 years as Head Stage Electrician at Bally’s. Louis was a proud 50-year/gold Card Member of Local 720 I.A.T.S.E. and had tremendous respect for his Union brothers and sisters. Since his passing, those brothers and sisters have expressed how generous Louis was in sharing his knowledge and skill when they came to him with questions about theater, stagecraft, and all things electrical. As a Philanthropist Louis was an active supporter of USITT, Smith Center, and his Union. His family were founding member of Congregation Ner Tamid in Las Vegas, and he was a fifth generation member and supporter of Temple Bethel in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Louis & Barbara were long time members of Smith Center, and enjoyed attending theatrical productions and concerts there. Louis was never happier than when he was working or sitting in a theater. Louis had a large Lionel electric train collection that he started in childhood and he carried on with this pleasure throughout his life.

There will be no immediate local services. A Memorial Service will be held locally, at a later date. Graveside services through Temple Bethel in Bloomfield Hills, MI will be held at their cemetery.
