Henley doubles lead to six strokes in Mexico tourney

Russell Henley rolled in a 25-foot birdie putt on his first hole and didn’t let up, doubling his World Wide Technology Championsh­ip lead to six strokes entering the final round in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The 33-year-old shot 6-under-par 65 for a 22-under 191 total. Will Gordon (68) and Patton Kizzire (67) were tied for second.

■ Champions: At Boca Raton, Fla., Bernhard Langer had 10 birdies in a season-best 9-under 63, two shots below his age, for an 11-under 133 total and a one-stroke lead over Paul Goydos (66) entering the final round of the Timbertech Championsh­ip, the second of three postseason tournament­s.

■ LPGA: At Shiga, Japan, Momoko Ueda maintained her one-stroke lead in the Toto Japan Classic, shooting 4-under 68 for a 14-under 202 total entering the final round. Gemma Dryburgh (65) was alone in second.
