Devils work OT, win sixth in row

Zetterlund’s two goals sink Flames

CALGARY, Alberta — Fabian Zetterlund scored twice, including the overtime winner, as New Jersey beat Calgary 4-3 on Saturday to extend its win streak to six games.

Zetterlund scored on a one-timer on the power play with 2:22 left in the extra period. Nathan Bastian and Miles Wood each had a goal and an assist for the Devils (9-30), have won nine of 10 and earned their first six-game win streak since 2012. Vitek Vanecek made 27 saves.

Nazem Kadri and Elias Lindholm scored, and Jacob Markstrom stopped 31 shots for the Flames (5-4-1), who have lost four straight.

Kadri put Calgary up 1-0 at 1:29 of the first period when he backhanded a loose puck at the top of the crease by Vanecek for his team-best sixth goal of the season.

Bastian tied it 1-1 at 4:27 after beating Markstrom from the slot on a setup below the goal line from Jack Hughes. Zetterlund then made it 2-1 at 7:50 when he lifted a loose puck at the edge of the crease over Markstrom.

Wood got behind Calgary’s defense and redirected a centering pass from Michael Mcleod to make it 3-1 at 16:38.

Lindholm cut the Flames’ deficit to 3-2 at 4:48 of the second. Noah Hanifin took a breakaway pass after stepping out of the penalty box and was stopped on a 2-on0, but Lindholm redirected Hanifin’s centering pass into an empty net.

Nikita Zadorov scored 3:12 into the third to tie it 3-3 by deflecting a centering pass from Blake Coleman as he was driving to the net.

Markstrom stopped Jesper Bratt on a partial breakaway at 6:58 and made a blocker save on Hughes’ breakaway at 7:08.

■ Ducks 5, Sharks 4, SO: At San Jose, Calif., Adam Henrique scored the tying goal with 1:28 left in regulation and the decisive goal in the fifth shootout round as Anaheim dealt San Jose its fourth straight loss. Tomas Hertl had a goal and two assists for the Sharks, who had a 52-25 edge in shots. Anthony Stolarz had 48 saves through overtime for the Ducks.

■ Predators 4, Canucks 3, SO: At Vancouver, British Columbia, Jordan Gross scored his first two NHL goals for Nashville, which overcame a 3-0 first-period deficit. Matt Duchene scored the lone shootout goal, and Juuse Saros had 43 saves for the Predators, who were outshot 45-30. J.T. Miller had a goal and an assist for Vancouver.

■ Kings 5, Panthers 4: At Los Angeles, Gabe Vilardi scored on a sharp-angle shot with 3:18 left to break a 4-all tie as Los Angeles won for the third time in five games. Trevor Moore and Viktor Arvidsson each had a goal and an assist for the Kings. Carter Verhaeghe scored twice for Florida.
