Celebrating 50 Years of Care

-

A Tradition of Giving Back

In marking our 50th year of service to the community, we’re recognizing some of our community partners who make southern Nevada such a wonderful place to live and work—partners we proudly support. At Southwest Medical, part of Optum Care, we believe a community’s quality of life is directly related to

the health of its members. That’s why our team works not just to improve the health care system in Nevada, but to give back to our community whenever possible.

American Heart Association

Southwest Medical and our employees have proudly supported the American Heart Association for decades. Our team has served in various volunteer capacities for the American Heart Walk, Go Red for

Women Campaign, the Las Vegas Heart Ball, and American Stroke Month events. We believe it’s vital to fund lifesaving science, and get behind organizations like the American Heart Association that work to

raise awareness about critical health issues.

Heroes in the Rough

The mission of Heroes in the Rough is to provide rehabilitative experiences through golf, bowling, mentorship, and most importantly, friendship, for wounded veterans and their families. Funds from partners like Southwest Medical are used for golf, bowling, tournament entries, awards, banquets, outings, attire, and equipment. Every aspect of the

program is provided free of charge to our heroes.

American Cancer Society

Optum Care Cancer Care is an ardent sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s annual Making Strides of Las Vegas event to benefit the fight against breast cancer. The gathering celebrates survivors and thrivers, funds the future of breast cancer research and programs, and ensures that all women and men have a fair and just opportunity to prevent, find, treat, and survive breast cancer.
