Steelers LB Watt off IR; S Fitzpatric­k out Sunday

Pittsburgh activated threetime All-pro linebacker T.J. Watt from injured reserve and ruled out two-time All-pro safety Minkah Fitzpatric­k (appendix) for Sunday.

Watt, the 2021 NFL defensive player of the year, hasn’t played since sustaining a torn left pectoral muscle in Week 1. The 28-year-old also underwent knee surgery while on IR but returned to practice two weeks ago.

The Steelers (2-6) had seven sacks in Week 1 with Watt in the lineup. They totaled eight sacks in the next seven games.

■ Browns: Linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-koramoah (knee) and tight end David Njoku (ankle) were ruled out for Sunday. Two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward will play after being sidelined the past three games because of the 25-year-old’s third known concussion, and Pro Bowl right guard Wyatt Teller (calf) will play after being out two games.

■ Titans: Rookie wide receiver Treylon Burks (toe), a first-round draft pick, was activated from IR after being sidelined four games. And quarterbac­k Ryan Tannehill (ankle) is expected to start Sunday after being sidelined the past two games, NFL Network reported.

■ Panthers: Cornerback Donte Jackson sustained a torn left Achilles tendon in Carolina’s win Thursday and will be sidelined the rest of the season. The 27-year-old has started 60 games in five NFL seasons, all with the Panthers.

■ Commanders: Rookie wide receiver Jahan Dotson (hamstring), a first-round draft pick, will play Monday after being sidelined the past five games.

■ Rams: Rookie running back Kyren Williams (ankle) was activated from IR after being sidelined seven games.

■ 49ers: Running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) was activated from IR after being sidelined seven games.

■ Vikings: Cornerback Cameron Dantzler (ankle) was placed on IR.
