Third-ranked Smith up by three strokes in Australia

British Open champion Cameron Smith shot a topsy-turvy 2-under-par 69 for an 11-under 202 total to take a three-stroke lead into the Australian PGA Championsh­ip’s final round in Brisbane. Liu Yanwei (70) of China and Masahiro Kawamura (71) of Japan were tied for second. The No. 3-ranked Smith had six birdies and four bogeys on a hot, gusty day.

■ DP World: At Johannesbu­rg, Dan Bradbury shot 4-under 67 for a 17-under 196 total for a one-stroke lead entering the Joburg Open’s final round as the 23-year-old Englishman pursues a wire-to-wire victory. Sami Valimaki (66), a 24-year-old from Finland, doubleboge­yed the 18th hole and was alone in second.
