JEFFREY GEORGE OSTFELD June 11, 1976 - July 13, 2021
Jeffrey George Ostfeld, 45, sadly passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 13, 2021 after a sudden illness. Born on June 11, 1976 in Minot, North Dakota to two proud U.S. Air Force military career officers, Jeff traveled extensively cross-country and experienced new places and ways of living. He was the beloved son of Carol Ostfeld, dearly loved older brother to twins Emily Ostfeld and Kevin Ostfeld, special nephew to his numerous aunts and uncles, and a funloving cousin to many. He was preceded in death by his father, George Ostfeld. Jeff grew up fatherless since he was a baby and it was heartbroken for him to forever imagine what his father was like. However, this immense void throughout his life gave him the insight to manifest true empathy to those who were overwhelmed with profound emptiness and the deepest feelings of lingering grief in their lives. To those who were privileged to have known him, his heart was truly selfless and golden. He showed absolute mercy to all creatures of life. He wouldn’t even kill a bug! His squeamish mom would literally be in extreme fear as he would make his way around the house trying to catch a bug just so he could release it outside. Jeff was also very witty and won one of the Las Vegas Sun newspaper cartoon contests for coming up with the best caption. Jeff was exceptionally intelligent and he became a successful independent contractor whose love for computers and the internet made him tech-savvy. He helped countless people navigate the complexities of modern technology and always managed to solve their computer related issues since he was in every respect quite an adept writer and gifted communicator. He will be fondly remembered for his unwavering tenacity to always find a way to get something done rather than making excuses why something can’t be done. He never gave up trying. Jeff thoroughly enjoyed listening to the AM talk radio shows and loved to hear the different perspectives on various topics. He was well versed on most subjects and welcomed anyone the challenge of a good debate. When all was said and done, he was quite convincing. Only God knows why his precious life was taken so soon. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois. Jeff, my familial love for you is endless. You will be dearly missed till the end of time.
