Kraken blitz Blackhawks, net eighth victory in row

Jared Mccann notched his first NHL hat trick to help Seattle beat host Chicago 8-5 for the Kraken’s franchise-best eighth straight win. Seattle led 6-1 after one period and won its seventh road game in a row to become the first NHL team to sweep a trip of seven or more games.

■ Flyers 3, Capitals 1: At Washington, Scott Laughton had a goal and an assist in Philadelph­ia’s third straight win. Alex Ovechkin scored his 30th goal this season for Washington, tying Mike Gartner with an Nhl-record 17 30-goal seasons.

■ Avalanche 7, Senators 0: At Denver, Mikko Rantanen, Artturi Lehkonen and Alex Newhook each scored twice, Pavel Francouz had 29 saves in his fourth shutout and first this season, and Colorado won for the second time in nine games.

■ Wild 2, Coyotes 1: At St. Paul, Minn., Mats Zuccarello and Freddy Gaudreau scored 51 seconds apart in the middle period to back Marc-andre Fleury, who had 27 saves, as Arizona lost its eighth straight.

■ Bruins 4, Maple Leafs 3: At Boston, Matt Grzelcyk scored to break a 3-all tie with 76 seconds left, and Boston avoided losing a second straight game for the first time this season.

■ Silver Knights 4, Wranglers 2: At Dollar Loan Center, Sheldon Rempal scored at 9:26 of the second period to break a 2-all tie, and the Silver Knights (14-22-3) won their second straight after a five-game skid. Maxim Marushev scored an empty-net goal and had an assist. Emilio Pettersen had a goal and an assist in the first period for Calgary (24-10-1) in its second straight loss and third in 12 games.
