MICHAEL KELLY

-

Michael Kelly, 78, passed away peacefully, January 9, 2023, at home surrounded by his loved ones, after a long battle with cancer. Michael was born September 30, 1944, in Los Angeles. He attended Simi Valley High School in Simi, CA, and after graduation enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country proudly, for five years. Michael moved to Las Vegas in the late 1960’s. While in Las Vegas, he had the opportunity to work with his father, Sard, and older brother, Bill, for Acme Electric, where he worked for nearly 55 years. In 1983, Michael met Mary Polci and her two children, Renee and Gary, together they created a beautiful life for themselves for the past 40 years. He was known for his passion for building, and building for others with no expectations. Nothing made Michael happier than his ability to put smiles on other’s faces with his hard work. He was also proud of his native American Indian heritage, the Choctaw Tribe. Michael was an eternal optimist at heart, his extreme optimism was never more apparent than when he survived lung cancer in his early 60’s. He battled it the way he lived his life, with the thought in mind, “Nothin to it, but to do it.” Michael never complained about the challenges that came with cancer, was always found smiling, and one could hear him whistling his favorite tune during his treatment. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sard and Florence; siblings, Gary, Judi, and William; niece, Casey Pantehis; nephew, David Michael Kelly; and sister-in-law, Rosalie Kelly. Michael is survived by his wife, Mary Kelly; her children, Renee Ruggeroli and Gary Polci; sister, Lari Davis, and her daughters, Carla Richards and Cristal Bright; niece, Lynn Kelly; grandchildren, Gianna, Brock, and Trey (Renee) Ruggeroli and Naynay (Gary) Polc; and several other extended family members. Rosary will be at noon, with the Eulogy at 12:30pm and a Mass at 1pm Sat., Feb. 18, all at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Las Vegas. A celebration of Life will immediately follow the Mass, his family will be present and will welcome loved ones.
