Steven Wolfe Thompson passed away from complicati­ons related to Primary Progressiv­e Aphasia on January 1, 2023, at the age of 67. Wolfe was born August 27, 1955, in Los Angeles, CA, son of 1960sera Las Vegas showgirl Jeanne Thompson. As a teenager he worked as a DJ for Vegas-area radio stations, known then as Steven Quick on country station KRAM. He graduated from the Internatio­nal Baccalaure­ate program at Valley HS in 1973, earned undergradu­ate and MA degrees from University of Wisconsin at Madison, and graduated from the University of Puget Sound Law School in 1983, Tacoma, WA, where he practiced corporate, intellectu­al property, and real estate law for 15 years. He loved flying his Piper Arrow as an Instrument-rated Private Pilot, and he loved singing. Steven sang baritone in choirs throughout school and college, including the Seattle Symphony Chorale and the Seattle Opera Chorus in the 1990s. Steven was a lifelong, nationally ranked bridge player, winning a national championsh­ip in 2010 with his longtime bridge partner and colleague, Portland attorney Marc Zwerling. Steven started going by his middle name, Wolfe, when he relocated back home to Las Vegas in 1998. He continued his solo law practice in Nevada - for a total of 36 years in practice - until his diagnosis with a rare neurodegen­erative condition, Primary Progressiv­e Aphasia, in early 2021. He enjoyed cigars, Art and Design, and his role as the Jolly Neighborho­od Santa - courtesy of his iconic white beard and mustache. Wolfe is survived by his son Eli Thompson, his brothers, Daniel and Sito Garay, his, sister Trish Garay, his ex-wife Marta Keen Thompson, and his ex-husband, Robert Thompson. He will be missed by many other family, friends, clients, and colleagues.
