Pelicans down Lakers to halt 10-game slide

Brandon Ingram scored 35 points to lead host New Orleans past the Los Angeles Lakers 131-126, halting the Pelicans’ 10-game skid. Anthony Davis had 34 points and 14 rebounds and Lebron James 27 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Lakers, who had won two straight. James moved 36 points from breaking Kareem Abduljabba­r’s NBA career scoring mark. C.J. Mccollum scored 23 points for New Orleans, which trailed by 12 in the third quarter.

■ Nets 125, Wizards 123: At New York, reserve Cam Thomas and Edmond Sumner scored career highs of 44 and 29 points, respective­ly, for

Brooklyn, which overcame a 23-point deficit. Kristaps Porzingis had 38 points for Washington, which lost its second straight after a six-game win streak.

■ Suns 116, Pistons 100: At Detroit, Deandre Ayton had 31 points and 16 rebounds for Phoenix in its eighth win in 10 games. Chris Paul had 14 assists and two points on 0-for-7 shooting from the floor for the Suns, his first game without a field goal since 2017.

At New York, Kawhi Leonard scored 35 points and Paul George 30 for Los Angeles, which didn’t trail in overtime after blowing a 17-point fourth-quarter lead. Jalen Brunson had 41 points for New York.

■ Bulls 129, Trail Blazers 121: At Chicago, Zach Lavine scored 36 points for Chicago, which overcame a 17-point third-quarter deficit. Damian Lillard had 40 points for Portland, which had won five of its previous six.

■ Nuggets 128, Hawks 108: At Denver, Jamal Murray had 41 points and Nikola Jokic 14 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists for Denver in its third straight win.

John Jenkins had 27 points and Eric Mika 24 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for the Ignite (10-23), who led 62-58 at halftime in their sixth loss in seven games.
