E. ANN TATE
E. Ann Tate passed away February 1, 2023. She was born on August 27th, 1936, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She spent her youth in Laramie, Wyoming and Boulder Colorado. She graduated from Laramie High School in Wyoming. She earned a BA in English from The University of Wyoming in 1958 and a Masters in Education from UNLV in 1983. She was most passionate about her position as Director of Professional Development at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. While she was there she served on the board of directors for the American Society for Training and Development, and the Mountain Plains Adult Education Association. She had Memberships and affiliations with ASTD, SNHRA, and NUCEA. She earned awards and honors from the University Continuing Education Association for excellence in service. Ann also was a dedicated member of Junior Mesquite and PEO and was named one of the Distinguished Women of Southern Nevada in 1997. She loved dancing, ice skating, fancy shin digs, jazzy clothes, traveling, playing bridge, and crafting with friends. She was dedicated to keeping in touch with relatives near and far. Her summer highlights were baking and vacationing at the cabin with her grandchildren. She was an ardent fan of Wyoming football and UNLV basketball. Ann was a faithful wife to R. Dennis Tate until his passing on September 18, 2021. She is survived by her daughter Susan Tate, Son Mike Tate, daughter in-law Tonia and grandchildren Sara and James. Ann loved large and made lifelong friends with everyone she met. Her family, relatives and friends will miss her dearly.
