Bertuzzi delivers in debut as Bruins notch 10th win in row

Tyler Bertuzzi set up a goal in his Boston debut, helping the Nhl-leading Bruins beat the visiting New York Rangers 4-2 for their 10th straight win. Charlie Coyle scored off Bertuzzi’s feed and set up former Golden Knight Tomas Nosek’s short-handed goal as Boston moved to 26-2-3 at home. Alexis Lafreniere scored both goals for New York in its sixth loss in eight games.

■ Canucks 4, Maple Leafs 1: At Vancouver, British Columbia, Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller scored short-handed goals 44 second apart in the third period, and each had a goal and an assist to back Thatcher Demko, who had 36 saves. Vancouver, which was outshot 37-24, has alternated wins and losses for its past eight games.

■ Stars 7, Avalanche 3: At Dallas, Mason Marchment and Joe Pavelski ended careerlong scoring droughts of 32 and 18 games, respective­ly, for Dallas, which is 4-0-1 in its past five games. Colorado has allowed seven goals each in two straight regulation losses after a 7-0-1 run.

■ Capitals 8, Sharks 3: At San Jose, Calif., Alex Ovechkin had two goals and an assist for Washington, which overcame a 2-0 deficit and dealt San Jose its fifth straight loss. Ovechkin has 815 goals, 79 short of Wayne Gretzky’s alltime record.

■ Sabres 5, Lightning 3: At Buffalo, N.Y., rookie Jack Quinn scored during Buffalo’s three-goal third period as the Sabres (32-25-4) matched their win total from last season. Tampa Bay lost its fourth straight and fifth in six games.

■ Panthers 4, Penguins 1: At Sunrise, Fla., Aleksander Barkov had two assists to back Sergei Bobrovsky, who stopped 31 shots, as Pittsburgh’s four-game win streak ended. Florida has alternated wins and losses for its past 11 games.

■ Jets 7, Oilers 5: At Winnipeg, Manitoba, defenseman Josh Morrissey had two goals and an assist for Winnipeg, which had lost five straight and seven of its previous eight. Leon Draisaitl scored three goals for Edmonton.

■ Predators 3, Blackhawks 1: At Chicago, defenseman Tyson Barrie scored to break a 1-all tie in the second period to back Juuse Saros, who had 27 saves in Nashville’s fifth win in six games. Chicago lost its fourth in a row.

■ Islanders 4, Red Wings 1: At New York, Anders Lee scored two of New York’s four thirdperio­d goals as the Isles moved to 5-2-1 in their past eight games. Detroit lost its fifth in a row.

■ Senators 5, Blue Jackets 2: At Ottawa, Ontario, Travis Hamonic and Tim Stutzle each scored twice for Ottawa, which had a 39-21 edge in shots and won its fifth straight.
