Bruins win sixth straight, nab Atlantic Division title
Garnet Hathaway scored the tiebreaking goal with 2:28 left in the second period, and host Boston clinched the Atlantic Division title by beating Tampa Bay 2-1 for its sixth straight win. The victory was the Bruins’ 56th, moving them one behind the club record set in 1970-71. It also kept them on pace to set the NHL record for regular-season wins with 10 games left, a mark (62) shared by Detroit (1995-96) and the Lightning (2018-19).
■ Flyers 3, Red Wings 0: At Philadelphia, Carter Hart had 29 saves in his fifth shutout and second this season as Philadelphia won its third straight. Detroit, which was 0-for-7 on the power play, lost for the fifth time in six games.
■ Canucks 3, Stars 1: At Dallas, Brock Boeser scored the go-ahead goal in the second period for Vancouver, which won for the fourth time in five games. Dallas lost its third in a row and fifth in six games.
■ Penguins 4, Capitals 3: At Pittsburgh, Evgeni Malkin scored the goahead
goal on a breakaway off a turnover with 1:20 left for Pittsburgh after the Penguins had blown a 3-0 third-period lead.
■ Kraken 7, Predators 2: At Nashville, Tenn., Jared Mccann had a goal and two assists, and Eeli Tolvanen scored twice for Seattle, which has alternated wins and losses for its past six games.
■ Rangers 4, Panthers 3: At Sunrise, Fla., Patrick Kane scored the tiebreaking goal 1:22 into the third period for New
York, which overcame a two-goal deficit in its sixth win in seven games.
■ Canadiens 8, Blue Jackets 2: At Montreal, Rafael Harvey-pinard notched his first NHL hat trick, and ex-golden Knights prospect Nick Suzuki had a goal and three assists.
■ Devils 5, Senators 3: At Newark, N.J., Jack Hughes had a goal and an assist for New Jersey, which clinched its first playoff berth since 2018.
■ Kings 4, Jets 1: At Los Angeles, Viktor Arvidsson scored twice as Los Angeles matched its longest point streak at 11 games (9-0-2).
■ Flames 5, Sharks 3: At Calgary, Alberta, Tyler Toffoli scored twice for Calgary, which dealt San Jose its ninth loss in a row.
