THE Plaza hotel-casino in downtown Las Vegas named Sue Ascanio as its general manager. Ascanio previously served as general manager at River Rock Casino in Sonoma County, California, but started her gaming and hospitality career in Las Vegas — first with Harrah’s Entertainment and then Station Casinos. She has also served as an executive at Pinnacle Entertainment and Penn National Gaming in Indiana.
“Sue is a proven leader who has experience with all aspects of managing a hotel/casino, including the design and construction of large-scale improvement projects and motivating a strong leadership team and staff,” said Jonathan Jossel, CEO of the Plaza.
Goodwill of Southern Nevada
promoted Tina Truncale to district manager. Truncale will be responsible for supervising eight of the 17 Goodwill thrift stores in the Las Vegas Valley, making sure they reach monthly budget goals and follow operational processes. She joined the nonprofit in 2010 as a career services volunteer and expanded her responsibilities, supporting Goodwill’s disability programs, working at its stores and serving as store manager.
“Through her experience as a volunteer and working closely with participants in our programs of service, Tina brings a unique sensitivity to people with barriers to employment. This perspective has contributed greatly to her steady growth to a leadership role in the organization,” Goodwill Chief Operating Officer John Stoddard said in a news release.
Gabby Alegret has joined Hendersonbased Trosper Public Relations as social media specialist. In her new role, Alegret will be responsible for creating and maintaining content across all social media platforms for clients and analyzing demographics and performance.
“We are thrilled to have Gabby Alegret join the team,” said Elizabeth Trosper, founder and CEO of Trosper Public Relations, in a news release. “Gabby’s experience in social media will allow our clients to grow their digital footprint.”
