OBITUARIES MARC KEVIN DUCHARME
Marc Ducharme of Sedona, AZ, passed away unexpectedly on 08/12/23. Marc was born in Rock Hill, SC to parents Claude & Alton (Strickland), the 3rd of 7 children. At age 8, the family moved to Las Vegas, NV. After graduating from Clark HS in 1970, Marc moved to Costa Rica to pursue his interest in art, creating masterful etchings and lithographs and became fluent in Spanish. Returning to Las Vegas in 1978, Marc began his career as a picture framer, working first at Desert Décor then at The Gallery of History. In 1995, Marc moved to Sedona and opened his own frame shop, Ducharme Prints & Framing. Marc was a unique individual, considered by his friends to be a Renaissance Man, with a wide array of interests. He was uniquely creative, and loved to draw, paint, and create art in the oddest ways. He had a penchant for collecting curiosities, and was well known for his beautiful calligraphy. He loved his time outdoors, pursuing activities like cross-country skiing, off-road bicycling, and camping. He was most striking clad in leather on his Harley-davidson traveling the backroads.
Marc is survived by his son Nicolas Ducharme (Anahi), daughters River Morningway and Victoria Ducharme; his beloved grandchildren: granddaughters Andria, Maryan, Kira, Riley, and grandson Alec; his brothers: Steve Ducharme (Patty Becker), Greg Ducharme, Eric Ducharme (Tracy Elvin), and sisters: Martha Ducharme, Laura Ducharme Conboy, and Dawn Ducharme (Charles Grebing).
A memorial service will be hosted by the Ducharme family on Saturday, October 7th, at 5pm, in Las Vegas. Please email ducharmeframing@gmail.com for more information and to RSVP to this event.
