Chiefs’ Reid, Mahomes fined $150K for public criticism of game officials

-

The NFL fined Kansas City coach Andy Reid $100,000 and quarterback Patrick Mahomes $50,000 for their public criticism of game officials, ESPN reported. Both were upset with an offside penalty on wide receiver Kadarius Toney that wiped out what would have been the go-ahead touchdown in the final two minutes of the Chiefs’ Week 14 loss to Buffalo.

■ Eagles: The NFL banned security chief Dom Disandro from being on the sideline for the rest of the regular season after the 45-year-old was ejected from a Week 13 game for a scuffle with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw. Also, five-time Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay had arthroscopic knee surgery and will miss at least Monday’s game, coach Nick Sirianni said.

■ Texans: Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) was ruled out for Sunday, and multiple sources reported Case Keenum will start in his place. Keenum, 35, an 11-year NFL veteran with seven teams, is 29-35 as a starter. He hasn’t played this season and last started in 2021 with Cleveland.

■ Rams: Defensive tackle Aaron Donald (groin) was downgraded to questionable for Sunday after being sidelined Friday for what was listed as rest. The 32-year-old seventime All-pro, who hasn’t missed a game this season, leads defensive tackles in pass-rush win rate in 2023.

■ Giants: Tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) was activated from injured reserve. The 31-year-old, who spent the past five seasons with the Raiders, was sidelined the past five games. He led New York in receiving yards with 384 at the time of his injury.

■ Lions: Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater told the Detroit Free Press he intends to retire after this season. The 31-yearold, who has appeared in one game this year, is 33-32 as an NFL starter with six teams over nine seasons.

■ Browns: The NFL fined defensive end Myles Garrett $25,000 for public criticism of officiating after the four-time Pro Bowler made pointed remarks following Cleveland’s Week 14 win.

■ Falcons: Kentavius Street (pectoral) was placed on IR, and fellow defensive tackle David Onyemata (ankle) was ruled out for Sunday.
