Gustavsson, Wild stay hot, down Canucks in shootout

Mats Zuccarello scored the lone shootout goal to back Filip Gustavsson, who stopped 35 shots through overtime and all three he faced in the shootout, as host Minnesota beat Vancouver 2-1 on Saturday.

Frederick Gaudreau scored his second goal of the season with 1:55 left in the first period for the Wild, who won their third straight and moved to 7-2 under coach John Hynes.

Former Golden Knight Teddy Blueger scored his third goal of the season 3:50 into the second period for the Canucks, who had won four in a row. Casey Desmith had 30 saves for Vancouver.

■ Flyers 1, Red Wings 0: At Philadelph­ia, Samuel Ersson stopped 34 shots in his third shutout and second this season, and Cam York scored in the first period as Philadelph­ia moved to 6-0-1 in its past seven games and dealt Detroit its fifth loss in six games.

■ Predators 3, Capitals 1: At Nashville, Tenn., Philip Tomasino scored the go-ahead goal with 6:34 left in the second period to back Juuse Saros, who had 21 saves while winning his sixth straight start, as Nashville won for the seventh time in eight games.

■ Rangers 2, Bruins 1, OT: At Boston, Vincent Trocheck scored his second goal of the night 2:03 into overtime as New York won for the third time in four games. Boston, which was 5-1-1 in its previous seven, was outshot 34-23.

■ Coyotes 2, Sabres 0: At Tempe, Ariz., Karel Vejmelka stopped 28 shots in his fifth shutout and first this season as Arizona won its second straight after a four-game skid. Buffalo has alternated wins and losses for seven games.

■ Jets 6, Avalanche 2: At Winnipeg, Manitoba, Gabriel Vilardi scored twice for Winnipeg, which won for the sixth time in seven games and set a franchise record by holding foes to two or fewer goals in a seventh straight game.

■ Canadiens 5, Islanders 3: At Montreal, Josh Anderson scored twice for Montreal in its second win in its past 10 home games. Brock Nelson had two goals for New York, which was 4-0-1 in its previous five games.

■ Maple Leafs 7, Penguins 0: At Toronto, Martin Jones stopped 38 shots in his 29th shutout and first this season, and Max Domi had a goal and two assists as Toronto moved to 6-0-3 in its past nine games.

■ Devils 6, Blue Jackets 3: At Columbus, Ohio, Jack Hughes notched his second hat trick for New Jersey, which won for the fifth time in six games and handed Columbus its fifth loss in seven games.

■ Blues 4, Stars 3, OT: At St. Louis, Colton Parayko scored 37 seconds into overtime, and Jordan Kyrou had a goal and two assists for St. Louis, which won its second straight after a four-game skid.
