Tuch helps Sabres outlast Edmonton

Former Golden Knight Alex Tuch scored the decisive shootout goal as host Buffalo overcame a two-goal deficit and a disallowed overtime goal to beat Edmonton 3-2 on Saturday.

Jacob Bryson scored the tying goal with 8:21 left in the third period for the Sabres, who halted a three-game skid and dealt Edmonton a second straight loss after its five-game win streak.

Owen Power scored for Buffalo with two seconds left in overtime, only to have the goal disallowed upon replay review because of an offside call.

Both teams had left the ice when officials announced the overturned goal. The announceme­nt led to a chaotic scene in which the Sabres’ mascot, Sabretooth, ran down Buffalo’s tunnel to alert the team.

Oilers captain Connor Mcdavid had his points and league-best assist streak end at 13 games despite enjoying several setup and scoring opportunit­ies, including a shot off the post in the first period’s final minute.

■ Lightning 7, Flyers 0: At Tampa, Fla., defenseman Darren Raddysh had five assists, Victor Hedman scored twice and had an assist, and Andrei Vasilevski­y stopped 25 shots in his 34th shutout and second this season. Philadelph­ia has alternated wins and losses for its past seven games.

■ Predators 2, Blue Jackets

1: At Columbus, Ohio, Luke Evangelist­a scored to break a 1-all tie 4:16 into the third period, and Nashville moved to 10-0-1 in its past 11 games. Daniil Tarasov had a career-high 47 saves for Columbus, which was outshot 49-33.

■ Rangers 4, Blues 0: At New York, Igor Shesterkin stopped 26 shots for his 13th shutout and second this season in his 200th NHL game, and Vincent Trocheck and Jimmy Vesey scored first period goals as New York moved to 13-3-2 in its past 18 games.

■ Sharks 2, Senators 1:

At San Jose, Calif., Thomas Bordeleau scored two powerplay goals in his first NHL multi-goal game, and Magnus Chrona stopped 31 shots in his first NHL win as San Jose halted a nine-game slide. Ottawa lost its seventh in a row.

■ Panthers 5, Flames 1: At Sunrise, Fla., Vladimir Tarasenko had two goals and an assist three days after Florida acquired him from Ottawa, and the Panthers won for the seventh time in eight games. Calgary lost for the second time in eight games.

■ Hurricanes 4, Devils 2: At Newark, N.J., Jesperi Kotkaniemi broke a 1-all tie with a bad-angle shot 2:50 into the third period for Carolina, which won for the fourth time in five games and moved to 8-2-1 in its past 11.

■ Capitals 4, Blackhawks 1: At Washington, Tom Wilson scored for a second straight game for Washington to back Charlie Lindgren, who had 29 saves, as Chicago lost for the eighth time in nine games.

■ Bruins 5, Penguins 1: At Boston, Pavel Zacha had two goals and an assist, and David Pastrnak scored to reach 40 goals for a third straight season for Boston, which is 6-1-5 in its past 12 games.

■ Maple Leafs 3, Canadiens 2: At Montreal, John Tavares scored to break a 2-all tie with 6:46 left. Toronto has alternated wins and losses for its past five games. AHL

■ Canucks 6, Silver Knights 0: At Dollar Loan Center, Arturs Silovs stopped 27 shots in his eighth AHL shutout and third this season, and Arshdeep Bains had a goal and two assists as Abbotsford (29-21-6) halted a three-game skid with its second win in seven games. The Silver Knights (24-276) had a 27-22 edge in shots in their third loss in four games.
