Curry, Thompson excel, lift Warriors past Lakers

Stephen Curry scored 31 points in his return to Golden State’s lineup, and Klay Thompson added 26 off the bench as the Warriors beat the host Los Angeles Lakers 128-121 on Saturday.

Lebron James had 40 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Lakers, who played without Anthony Davis for the final three quarters after the nine-time All-star sustained what the team termed an eye contusion.

Curry, who turned 36 on Thursday, missed three games because of a right ankle sprain. The two-time league MVP hit 12 of 24 shots and had six rebounds and five assists in 31 minutes.

Davis got poked in the left eye by Warriors forward Trayce Jackson-davis while driving to the basket with 2:47 left in the first quarter. Davis kept playing for the next few minutes, but his eye was swollen shut as he went to the locker room.

■ Bulls 127, Wizards 98: At Chicago, Ayo Dosunmu had a career-high 34 points and Nikola Vucevic 29 points and 13 rebounds for Chicago, which handed Washington its 19th loss in 21 games. The Wizards fell to 4-20 under interim coach Brian Keefe, a former UNLV guard.

■ Pelicans 126, Trail Blazers 107: At New Orleans, C.J. Mccollum scored 30 points and Zion Williamson 26 for New Orleans, which shot 53.6 percent in its sixth win in seven games. Dalano Banton had 28 points for Portland in its third loss in four games.

■ Rockets 117, Cavaliers 103: At Houston, Jalen Green had 26 points and 11 rebounds for Houston, which entered the fourth quarter with a 25-point lead in its fifth straight win and seventh in eight games. Cleveland lost for the third time in four games.

■ Pacers 121, Nets 100: At Indianapol­is, Pascal Siakam had 28 points and 11 rebounds for Indiana, which had an 82-42 edge in points in the paint and won for the third time in four games. Brooklyn, which trailed 59-57 at halftime, had 21 turnovers.

■ 76ers 109, Pelicans 98: At Philadelph­ia Tyrese Maxey shook off a bloody nose caused by Brandon Miller’s flagrant-2 foul to score 30 points for Philadelph­ia in its second win in seven games.

■ Thunder 118, Grizzlies 112: At Memphis, Tenn., Chet Holmgren had 22 points and 11 rebounds for Oklahoma City, which won for the fifth time in six games and tied Denver atop the West.
