Coroner’s office identifies man found dead in Lake Mead

-

The man found dead in Lake Mead almost 24 hours after he disappeared in the water near Callville Bay was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office Tuesday.

Curtis James Ficarrotta, 30, from Las Vegas disappeared about noon Sunday and was found by search and rescue teams about 11 a.m. Monday.

He was swimming with friends in a cove without a life jacket when he began struggling, according to officials at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

His cause of death is still pending. Officials believe that alcohol may have been a contributing factor.

Another swimmer, from Chicago, disappeared Thursday in Boulder Basin and has yet to be found.

Search teams are still scanning the water looking for 35-year-old Istvan Tibor Feichtner. residential customers of the Clark County Water Reclamation District will have to pay $221.09 per house, down from last year’s $230.30 per house.

The County Commission, acting as the board of trustees for the district, approved the reduced rates in March after a review of the district’s financial plan and $700 million capital plan.

The bills are being printed and will be mailed next week.

The Water Reclamation District serves Las Vegas Valley, Blue Diamond, Indian Springs, Moapa Valley, Laughlin and Searchlight and collects and reclaims more than 100 million gallons of wastewater daily.
