For sale: House That Bernie Built

-

If you ever wondered what it’s like to live like an All-Star and a Grammyaward nominee, wonder no more. For just $3.5 million (and a move across the country), you can do both by being the new owner of Bernie Williams’ house.

The former five-time All-Star center fielder with the New York Yankees is selling his home at 5 Hallock Place in Armonk, N.Y., gold gloves not included.

The sixbedroom, sixbathroom house sits on a nearly three-acre lot and has more than 8,700 square feet, including a recording studio, which Williams presumably used while recording his “Moving Forward” album, nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2009.

Can’t afford $3.5 million? No problem. A four-bedroom, six-bathroom house down the street at 10 Hallock Place is selling for $2.495 million. There goes the neighborhood.

MEE-OUCH — Don’t expect to see any earth-shattering tweets from New Orleans Pelicans coach Monty Williams.

Williams, who will join Mike Krzyzewski’s staff to lead the U.S. men’s national team, had no problem keeping his appointment a secret.

He’s not on social media and told only the closest of friends.

“I’d rather get a massage by a cat than to tweet,” Williams told Pelicans.com. “First of all, I don’t think anybody would listen to the things I have to say. Secondly, I just don’t have the time. If I’m tweeting when I could be with my family instead ... I can’t do that.”

Still, some may like insights into a coach’s life, but Williams downplays that.

“I’m too boring for all of that stuff,” he said.

SKINS GAME? — Gary Player most likely has won many skins in his time on golf courses.

But this time, the 77-year-old South African will be showing skin.

Player is one of several athletes who will be featured in ESPN The Magazine’s “Body Issue,” which will be available at newsstands July 12.

Yes, that’s the issue in which athletes pose nude.

Before you start cringing, consider that Player still does 1,000 situps per day, more than many of us will do in our lifetime.

Among those also set to pose: Colin Kaepernick and Vernon Davis of the San Francisco 49ers, John Wall of the Washington Wizards, Olympic volleyball star Kerri Walsh Jennings and Ultimate Fighting Championship bantamweight Miesha Tate.

LIVING CLEAN? — Former Texas Tech running back Ronald Daniels Jr. simply wanted to take a bath.

Daniels was charged with burglary after an Albuquerque, N.M., woman and her daughters returned home to the sound of water running and a radio playing and found Daniels in their upstairs bathtub.

According to the police report, Daniels offered the woman money and asked her not to call police before leaving the scene. He was later arrested after police found him with the remote control to the woman’s radio.

Daniels told police the door to the home was unlocked and he felt “comfortable” and as though he belonged in the home.

Daniels was kicked off the team after one season for violating team rules (improper bathing?) at Texas Tech and signed with San Diego State in February before deciding to quit football.
