WHAT ARE THE ODDS?

-

In Las Vegas, the NBA Draft is for entertainment purposes only. Any player propositions found online, such as how high UNLV’s Anthony Bennett will be selected, are not available at the state’s sports books.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board limits wagering options to results that are decided on the field of play. So for today’s draft in New York, it’s No Betting Allowed.

But there are props posted offshore, and Micah Roberts of The Linemakers on SportingNews.com made a few worth following, for entertainment purposes.

“It’s still fun speculating on where certain players will be drafted, and even if there have been leaks of inside information, this year’s NBA Draft looks more jumbled at the top than any recent draft in ary, and he found out after the season it was a stress fracture.

He was aware he was projected as a top-10 pick before the draft combine, but might go much higher even though his visits to teams have consisted of nothing more than interviews. He no longer needs crutches but will be in the boot for perhaps two more weeks.

So, with all those injury questions, what about playing it safe and picking a healthy guy?

“Probably a lot of people wish it could be that easy,” Kansas guard Ben McLemore said. “But it’s a process for the teams. They’ve got to see what’s available and what they really need.”
