We’ll always have Paris here and there
Ijust happen to have Paris Hilton’s personal itinerary in front of me, and it looks hectic: She DJs today at Rehab dayclub at the Hard Rock Hotel. Then she’ll party with DJ friends at nightclubs Omnia and XS and maybe Marquee. house, because “I like songs that are fun, bouncy and energetic and get the crowd going crazy.”
“There’s no music that does that to anybody except for this type of music,” she said.
She’s got a new single, “High Off My Love,” coming out in May with a naughty video.
“The video is amazing. I based it off of Madonna’s ‘Justify My Love’ video mixed with ‘50 Shades of Grey.’ It’s very sexy. I’ve never done a music video like this one.”
How does she handle all the globetrotting?
“I’ve been in this business a long time,” Hilton said. “I’ve gotten used to this type of schedule. I enjoy it. I love working and being successful. It really fulfills me in life.”
And there is the least tabloid-y Paris Hilton interview you’ll ever read, because not everything has to be scandalicious, people. GRIMM ON MUSIC, BOAR HUNTING
You can listen to my new interview with “America’s Got Talent” winner Michael Grimm on the “Doug Elfman Show,” via iTunes, podcast apps and DougElfman.com. Highlights:
■ Grimm is not a hunter per se, but he goes boar hunting with friends when he goes home to Louisiana.
“They’re a big nuisance down there, like they are at most places, tearing up farms, they’re eatin’ stuff, and tearin’ up yards, and they’re dangerous. You don’t want to run across one.”
■ His wife manages his career.
“It was just a little head-buttin’ here and there (at first). When I realized she has a harder head than I do, I just back down,” he said with a down-home smile.
■ Grimm didn’t jump at the chance to be in the movies when someone from Dreamworks called on behalf of Steven Spielberg’s interest in possibly casting him.
“I didn’t turn him down,” Grimm said. “I said, ‘If he wants to yeah, but I’m a singer. You can hire me for a party. You can put some music of mine in a movie. That’d be nice.’ ”
You can see Grimm perform Sunday at Santa Fe hotel’s “Blues and Bayou Brunch” ($35), featuring complimentary champagne and mimosas, Cajun crawfish, gumbo, grits, red beans and rice, collard greens and oysters.
He will also host an albumrelease party on May 23 at club Vinyl in the Hard Rock, for a new album that’s “grim,” melancholy but uptempo, original, adult contemporary, Americana rock with heavy guitar and drums.
And he headlines a residency at the Hard Rock Hotel from June 5-Aug. 30.
By the way, he writes songs in the shower but doesn’t sing in the shower. Weird, right? Who doesn’t sing in the shower? LSU CRAWFISH BOIL
