listed solely as an equity partner in the music festival.

But what about an artistic partner? Cirque can be counted on to cut a check, yes, but what about the bungee and Spandex? Fret not. Cirque artists will open the festival May 8 on the Main Stage of MGMResorts Festival Grounds, which is being overtaken by the Rock in Rio City of Rock on the weekends of May 8-9 and May 15-16.

According to a news release issued Thursday morning, Cirque performers will perform a “multisensory, never-beforeexperienced montage” designed expressly for Rock in Rio USA.

The piece will last 15 minutes and is to draw from the company’s trademark mix of colorsplashed costumes, dazzling acrobatics and live musicians.

All of the performers are from Strip shows, and this is to be the lone artistic involvement of Cirque artists in the four-day, two-weekend spectacle.

“It’s exciting to blend the talents of Cirque du Soleil artists from all of our Las Vegas productions and to be included in this iconic event,” Sandi Croft, artistic director for Cirque’s Rock in Rio USA performance, said in the statement. “This unique collaboration will create an unforgettable festival experience for fans.”

Also Thursday, Rock in Rio USA officials specified the festival’s transportation plan by stating that shuttles would arrive at the venue on Industrial Road through Circus Circus Drive and drop off ticket-holders about 500 feet from the main entrance, or next to the first security checkpoint. Taxis will use the same route and drop passengers about 650 feet from the main entrance.

As previously reported, twoday shuttle passes are being offered for $25 at the Rock in Rio USA website. Pickup and dropoff sites are at MGMResorts Village across from Luxor and Mandalay Bay, Downtown Las Vegas Events Center and World Market Center.

Shuttles to the venue will run daily from 2:30 to 11 p.m., with return service 10 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Again, locals who plan to attend: There is no parking available to ticket-holders on the 50-acre site.
