Latino conference focus of Clinton trip

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will speak to a group of Latino elected and appointed officials during her June visit to Las Vegas.
The former secretary of state will speak at the 32nd annual conference of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, according to a Clinton campaign aide. The conference will take place at Aria resort from June 17-19. Clinton will be in Nevada on June 18.
Other conference speakers include Rep. Dina Titus, D-Nev., state Sen. Mo Denis, D-Las Vegas, state Sen. Ruben Kihuen, D-Las Vegas, and Assemblywoman Irene Bustamante Adams, D-Las Vegas, according to the conference’s list of speakers on its website.
Earlier this week, Clinton’s campaign said her visit to the Silver State is part of the official launch of her presidential run. It’s part of a swing through all four early primary and caucus states.
The former U.S. senator and first lady will start the tour June 13 with a speech in New York City.
It will be followed by a presentation to an organizing meeting in Iowa that will be webcast to similar meetings around the country.
The candidate is scheduled to be in Iowa on June 13-14, in New Hampshire on June 15, in South Carolina on June 17 and in Nevada on June 18, the campaign said.
During her visit to Las Vegas on May 5, she spoke to a small group at Rancho High School, where she promised that, if elected, she will seek a “full and equal path to citizenship” for immigrants who are in the country illegally.
