Texans 24, Saints 6

-

At Reliant Stadium, Houston STORYLINE: J.J. Watt and the Texans (6-5) got their fourth straight win, holding New Orleans (4-7) without a touchdown to snap the Saints’ 155-game TD streak, the second-longest in NFL history. The Saints were kept out of the end zone for the first time in 10 years, scoring only on Kai Forbath’s 30- and 57-yard field goals. New Orleans had not been held without a touchdown since Dec. 25, 2005 against Detroit, and Drew Brees hadn’t gone without a TD pass since Nov. 29, 2012 against Atlanta. Watt had two sacks, giving him a league-leading 13½ this season and 70½ for his career. He required the second-fewest games (75) in NFL history to reach 70 sacks; only Reggie White (57 games) achieved that milestone faster. Texans QB Brian Hoyer was 21 of 27 for 205 yards and two TDs, both in the first quarter: 10 yards to Ryan Griffin and 3 to Cecil Shorts III. Albert Blue rushed for 77 yards, including an 8-yard TD. Brees was 25 for 44 for 228 yards. The Saints drove close to the end zone twice in the fourth quarter. Kareem Jackson’s 11th career interception, a diving grab at the goal line, ended one threat, and a host of Houston defenders converged in the end zone to break up a pass intended for Brandon Coleman with 5:43 remaining. QUOTABLE: “(New Orleans) is a very highpowered offense, so it’s everybody doing their job. Everybody up front, on the back end, executing their assignment.” — Watt NEXT: Texans at Bills (-3), 10 a.m. Sunday; Panthers (-6½) at Saints, 1:25 p.m. Sunday
