Raiders 24, Titans 21

-

At Nissan Stadium, Nashville, Tenn. STORYLINE: Derek Carr threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Seth Roberts with 1:21 remaining, breaking Oakland’s three-game losing streak and dealing Tennessee (2-9) its 11th consecutive home defeat. Carr threw for 330 yards and three TDs. Roberts, a second-year backup, beat cornerback Coty Sensabaugh on a fade to the right front corner of the end zone, capping his career-best day of six catches for 113 yards and two TDs. The Raiders (5-6) overcame two lost fumbles and 11 penalties for 94 yards, and benefited from a Titans penalty that kept their winning drive alive. On fourth-and-8 from the Tennessee 36 with 1:50 to play, Carr’s pass into the end zone for Andre Holmes was knocked away by free safety Michael Griffin. But cornerback B.W. Webb was called for holding Amari Cooper far away from the play, bailing out the Raiders. Carr (24 for 37, 330 yards) promptly hit tight end Mychal Rivera for a 19-yard gain to the Titans’ 12, setting up Roberts’ decisive catch. Tennessee’s final drive ended when Marcus Mariota was intercepted by Nate Allen at the Oakland 38 with 43 seconds left. Mariota was 17 of 27 for 218 yards and three TDs, the latter a 1-yard to fullback Jalston Fowler to give Tennessee a 21-17 lead with 4:41 to play. QUOTABLE: “(Roberts) was huge. I told him he put us on his back and carried us.” — Raiders safety Charles Woodson NEXT: Chiefs (-3) at Raiders, 1:05 p.m.; Jaguars at Titans (-2½), 10 a.m. Sunday
