At MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, N.J. STORYLINE: Ryan Fitzpatrick passed for 277 yards and four touchdowns, two to Brandon Marshall, and New York (6-5) kept pace in the AFC wild-card race by beating Miami (4-7). The Jets won for only the second time in six games, but are tied for the No. 2 wildcard spot with Kansas City and Houston. Fitzpatrick (22 of 37) led an offense that didn’t commit a turnover for only the second time all season. Chris Ivory compiled 87 of New York’s 137 rushing yards, including a back-breaking 31-yard TD in the fourth quarter on which he broke five tackles. That boosted the Jets’ lead to 35-7. Marshall made nine catches for 131 yards, with touchdowns of 17 yards in the first quarter and 3 in the fourth. Fitzpatrick also threw TD passes to Devin Smith (16 yards) and Erik Decker (2 yards), the latter giving New York a 21-0 lead in the third quarter. The Jets’ defense held Miami to nine rushes for 12 yards, the fewest New York ever has allowed. Ryan Tannehill threw for 351 yards and three TDs on 33-of-58 accuracy. His TD passes came in the second half: 5 yards to Jarvis Landry and Greg Jennings and 33 to DeVante Parker with 5 seconds to play. Landry set career highs with 13 catches and 165 yards. QUOTABLE: “You want to be playing meaningful games in December, and that’s kind of where we’re at right now.” — Fitzpatrick NEXT: Jets (-1½) at Giants, 10 a.m. Sunday; Ravens at Dolphins (-4½), 10 a.m. Sunday
